Russell Thompkins, Jr. was a founding member of the Philadelphia soul group, The Stylistics. The Stylistics played the Spectrum once on June 1, 1985. Russell's distinctive falsetto was the driving force behind the band who had multiple gold/platinum singles and albums. The Stylistics were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004.
